"Stacy and I are huge animal lovers. Throughout our marriage, we have rescued and given a home to over a dozen animals. I promise that well over 75% of my novel "FOOTFALLS" was written within the immediate supervision of at least one four legged creature (and usually two or three).
I wanted to find a local organization to help benefit with the sale of my first novel. I chose Operation Kindness. Founded in 1976, it is the oldest and largest no-kill shelter in North Texas. It is a nonprofit animal welfare organization that cares for homeless or unwanted cats and dogs in a no-kill environment.
We've seen Operation Kindness in action several times since we've moved to the Dallas area. One of our best friends adopted 'Rocky,' a VERY lovable dog from O.K. and one of our neighbors' cats, GUS, found his 'forever home' through the organization. We applaud any foundation that strives to help unwanted and abandoned animals, and Operation Kindness is one of the best."
